One of the most commonly ignored or overlooked assets people have is the value of learning. The truth is simple-you are worth only as much as your ability to earn. This makes all the sense in the world.

Think about it – why would anyone pay you more than what you are capable of earning for them? They would be racking up a loss if they pay you more than your productivity. The good news is that since your market worth is simple to figure out, it is also simple to figure out how to earn more.

To earn more, you have to produce more or produce higher-quality output. People will pay more for more stuff or for higher-quality stuff. Simple enough, right. The key to increased productivity and increased quality, however, is learning. You have to program yourself to boost your output and your quality for you to level up in your company’s pay scale. You have to learn the right things so people will pay you more.

Learn the right attitude

Attitude and character building, sadly, are not emphasized much nowadays. However, they make all the difference in the world. Think about it-the difference between a person who gives his job his all and a person who does just enough not to get fired is one of attitude.

One has an attitude where his self-worth is tied to the amount of value he creates for others. The other has an attitude where he just needs to do his time so he can be somewhere else.

The good news is that our work reflects our attitude. The amount of output we produce reflects our attitude. The same goes with the quality of our output. The good news is that our attitude is not hard wired. We learned to have a certain attitude. We can unlearn bad attitudes and learn good ones.

The key is to decide and to take action. Day after day. Week after week. It won’t happen overnight, but the best attitude is our best asset in helping us to learn the right things so we can earn more.

Learn the right tasks

We live in a market economy. It simply doesn’t reward all work the same way. Know which fields get paid well and learn the right skills so you can get paid well. It really is that simple. If you love your field but it doesn’t pay all that hot, look for subniche or specialization in your field that pays well and take all the courses and seminars you can get a hold of to get the information you need. You have to learn more to earn more. Start learning today.

I just love the post title !! It explains everything .. in order to be more successful, you need to expend your knowledge. You cannot expect to earn more if you don’t make some effort, research, learn and always try to improve..

Your return on investment from the time and money you spend learning something is often much higher than what one would achieve in the financial markets. The trick is making sure that the things you learn are things that you can later monetize.
